I love ready to wear collections and while these shows were 6 months ago it is now perfect timing to get into these looks, here are my favourites from Resort 2016 Ready To Wear! Pictures from Vogue.com
Josh Goot: style and class combine.
Toni Maticevski: my one true love, his designs are always perfection!
Alex Perry: the iconic feminine, always amazingly beautiful!
Camilla and Marc: I love how they are so much more edgy these days, it really suits them!
I found out about beauty bay from a friend with amazing eyebrows, I always wanted to try Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade and only knew of it being on Net A Porter which has huge postage costs, so she let me know I could get it from Beauty Bay and they post to Australia! I decided to get a few extra things to get free post. First things first if you have ever thought about trying Anastasia Beverly Hills then you just need to go and get it, I’m so glad I did and don’t know why it took this long. It doesn’t transfer or rub off, is the perfect colours and is just so amazing! I watched some YouTube videos and just went for it. I’m so happy with it!
While I was there I bought an Urban Decay eyeshadow palette, 3 brushes and got a free lip and eye primer. Delivery to Australia took exactly 2 weeks and was packaged beautifully. Very happy!
A blogger friend of mine Pariss, did a cute little questionnaire with me, and I thought I might as well share it with you all.
1. Who are you, and what do you do?
I’m a blogger at ladylikei.com, I work in insurance but spend all of my free time on crafty projects and designing wedding invitations! 2. Use 5 words to describe your style.
Girly, edgy, pink, neutrals and comfortable.
3. Do you remember where your interest in fashion began?
Yes, it was in textures, I didn’t ever really care about fashion until I was probably 13 and found a gorgeous silk top that I was in love with. The quality and feel just made me happy and inspired. Ever since I have based a majority of my love and interest for fashion on the materials used.
4. Who has influenced your style the most and how?
I believe I have a more individual and basic style which is influenced by things I see in magazines and what works on my body shape. At the moment I am loving Kim Kardashian, she just gets it so right and she is my main influence right now. 5. Describe your go-to, everyday work look?
Ooh this is fun because my work has no uniform and I can pretty much wear whatever I like, so often I will wear a pair of nice fitted jeans with sandals and a top that is crisp and corporate, it always looks polished but cool. 6. Do you have a signature look you turn to when going out?
All black (usually my go to high waisted Cheap Monday jeans and a nice top) except for accessories which are mostly high quality and pink!
7. Are you a fashion splurger or saver?
I splurge on items which will last forever like shoes and bags however when it comes to clothes I am very much a saver! I love stores like Valleygirl which can have some amazing pieces if you look hard enough. Also Portmans sales are my absolute favourite! I never pay over $80 for sunglasses too, I just scratch them.
8. If someone handed you $4000 to spend right this minute, what would you spend it on?
1. YSL Sac De Jour mini in black
2. Chanel espadrilles
3. Some new Agent Provocateur bikinis
4. Whatever I had left would be no doubt spent on Diptyque candles.
9. What do you see worthy of investing in, as far as your wardrobe goes?
Anything in your favourite colour, made of leather or from Italy…. they really do know what’s going on there. Jeans that fit really well is also a must do, and good bikinis!
10. What are your go-to brands for basics?
CottonOn, Supre and Kookai! I am obsessed with Kookai basic tops, they have built in shelf bras so if I’m feeling game I can be bra less, which is always a good thing. Also their cottons are the most beautiful.
11. Go-to brands for special occasions?
Dresses from She’s Electric, Portmans and Zimmerman.
12. What is your favourite gift to give?
I gave my whole family handmade candles for Christmas last year, it made me so happy that I was able to give them something special and usable, that’s what I love doing. Otherwise it has to be something special that they won’t buy themselves like a bottle of champagne, flowers or perfume.
13. If your partner had to sum up your wardrobe in 5 words or less, what would they say?
Oh my. He would be silent and then say expensive and overfull. He doesn’t get it!
14. What is your most treasured fashion or accessory piece?
My black patent Dior point heels, they smell amazing and just make me feel special! Or my new bubblegum pink Christian Louboutin patent points! Those red soles are just too beautiful.
15. What colour palette are you loving at the moment?
I just want to turn up the brightness and put the walden filter on my whole life, everything should be light pink, grey and nude!
16. If you had to choose one designer or label to wear for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
That is so hard to answer, I was thinking Chanel but to be practical I’ll go with Saint Laurent! Always black clothes with fun accessories.
17. What is the best advice you have ever received?
Make yourself happy first. When I was told that I thought it was selfish, but after doing the things that make you happy, you radiate happiness to share with everyone else who surrounds you. Positivity breeds positivity!
18. What are your favourite blogs to turn to for inspiration?
I have always been a sucker for flicking through We Heart It, Cherry Blossom Girl, thisisglamorous on Instagram and Tuula (I’m so jealous of her travels).
19. What trend have you seen on the runway recently that you are most looking forward to trying?
Autumn/Winter 2015 is looking to make the tulle trend a little more socially acceptable (Burberry have done so well with it) and mixing trends too. Also, collaborations like Quay Eyeware with Shay Mitchell coming together with their new collection of sunglasses. They are such a good price and Australian – perfection!
20. Can you offer one piece of style advice for my readers?
Choose quality over quantity! Save up for that investment handbag or shoes because you deserve it, and you only live once, right!
